Homework
Please remind your student that homework completion and effort need to be 100%.1. Spend time checking your child's agenda book or homework website.
2. Set aside a quiet space for homework. Homework time should be dedicated every night- even if you need to break it up into 15 or 30 minute segments.
3. Praise your child for a job well done.
Mr. Wheatley's English Class
Students should have a free reading book at all times. We will go to the library every other Friday for book selection.
Term 1- Students will be responsible for 2 AR tests and 2 book reviews. Please see guidelines in student binders.
Oct. 17- Rough Drafts of Book Review was due.
Students should revise and edit. Due Oct. 30th.
Students have guiding questions in their binder!
Mr. B's Math Homework
Math homework is assigned and should be expected 6 nights a week.
POW's are passed out on Friday, drafts are due the following Wednesday and final copies are turned in on Friday. Students have the opportunity to peer edit and ask questions on Wednesday.
We are always looking for a student's best effort- getting the correct answer is only part of the equation. Homework assignments are given credit for effort, even if the answers are incorrect.
Investigations are take home tests. Typically, they are started in class and finished for homework.
PROBLEM OF THE WEEK- POW's have been introduced. Rough Drafts are reviewed on Wednesdays, final copy due on Fridays. Rubrics, instructions and graphic organizers have been given to students!
Mr. Turcotte's Social Studies
Social Studies homework is assigned 3 times a week on average.
Students will have the opportunity to work on projects.
Wednesday Sept. 10- TEST- students have study guide
Mrs. Drobiak's Science Class
Homework for Science is handed out on Mondays.
Students should be working on homework each night. (Don't wait until the last minute)
Science homework is collected on Friday.
Pop Quizzes will be given during the week ! Students should be reviewing class notes on a daily basis to prepare for pop quizzes.
